85. Agitur perspectis his quae in secunda synodo Ephesena gesta sunt, coram sacro senatu et Constantino ac Veroniciano a secretis, et omni uniuersali concilio cum Pascasino et Lucentio episcopis et Bonifatio presbytero locum tenentibus Leonis papae Romani et Anatolio Constantinopolitano, praesente Dioscoro et omnibus metropolitanis episcopis, ut quaereretur depositio et mors Flauiani, et depositio orthodoxorum episcoporum qui pro fide depositi sunt.

Chapter XIII

At the Council of Chalcedon (AD 451):

85. Having examined what happened during the Second Council of Ephesus, it was postulated in front of the holy senate and Constantine and the secretary Veronicianus and the holy universal council with Bishops Pascasinus and Lucentius and Presbyter Bonifatius, who represented Pope Leo, and Anatolius of Constantinople, in the presence of Dioscorus and all the metropolitan bishops, that the deposition and death of Flavianus, and the deposition of the orthodox bishops who were deposed for faith, should be inquired into.

Discussion:

Presbyter Bonifatius as a Roman legate at the Council of Chalcedon is also mentioned in the fragment of the acts of Chalcedon quoted by Pope Vigilius in his "Constitutum" from AD 553 (Ep. 83 in the Collectio Avellana).
