Eodem tempore quidam Vincentius Victor in Mauritania Caesariensi inuenit apud Hispanum quendam presbyterum Petrum nonnullum opusculum meum [...]
 
Subsequently, Vincentius Victor, a layman, wrote to Peter (who came from Spain, but was probably settled in Mauretania) a book against Augustine's thesis on the immateriality of soul. Augustine wrote in response "The Nature and Origin of the Soul".

Discussion:

For "The Nature and Origin of the Soul", see [801]. It is not certain whether Peter was ordained in Spain and then served as a presbyter in Mauretania or the word ''Hispanus'' refers only to his origin.
