To the memory of the Presbyter Amantius. Hilara and Aurelia.

(trans. S. Adamiak)

Discussion:

Amantius was buried next to Victorinus, venerated as a martyr (see http://csla.history.ox.ac.uk/record.php?recid=E06954).
The expression "memoria" does not imply the fame of sanctity of the defunct.
We do not know whether Amantius was a Catholic or Donatist presbyter. Neither do we know who were Hilara and Aurelia, but they may have been respectively the wife and daughter of Amantius.
