Gaudentius presb(yter) sibi / et coniugi suae Severae castae hac(!) sanc[tissimae] / feminae quae vixit ann(os) XLII m(enses) III d(ies) X / dep(osita) IIII Non(as) April(es) Timasio et Promoto [cons(ulibus)]
Presbyter Gaudentius for himself and for his spouse Severa, a chaste and most holy woman, who lived 42 years, 3 months, 10 days, and was deposed on the 4th day before the Nones of April, when Timasius and Promotus were consuls [2 April 389].

Discussion:
The inscription is in the Basilica of St Paul on the Via Ostiense in Rome. Gaudentius prepared this inscription for himself and his wife after her death; we do not know when he died.
