About the source:
Title: The Council of Eauze, The Council of Aspasius, metropolitan bishop od Eauze, Concilium Aspasii episcopi metropolitani Elusani, Synodus Aspasi episcopi sedis apostolicae Origin: Eauze (Gaul) Denomination: Catholic/Nicene/Chalcedonian
This provincial council, which gathered on 1 February 551, was called by the metropolitan bishop of Eauze, Aspasius, most probably to the capital of his province, i.e. Eauze (which lies between Bordeaux and Toulouse). The synod was attended by seven bishops and one presbyter acting in his bishop stead. The acts of this synod serve as a good example of a local synod: they were transmitted only locally - no later council seems to refer in any way to this one.
